I love this bag for car camping with my kids, but it is much too heavy for backpacking. Even when compressed into a stuff sack , the bag takes up too much room to strap in/on a pack. Very warm though, and a great choice for a person looking for a bag that works in cold weather at a very reasonable price.

I usually sleep pretty cold, so I went with the zero degree. It was a bit too warm for a cool late Aug/early Sept night and I ended up sleeping in the bag but with the zipper open at times. Anyway, I still feel I made the right choice with this bag.
