Kelty Acute 32 Daypack - Internal Frame (For Women)

I struggled to find reviews for this backpack. It is very lightweight but does not have many pockets. Although it does have a pocket that would work for a bladder, there is no hose opening.

Sent this pack back - Uncomfortable, Had an external frame with a mesh covering at the back. If you dropped this on the ground at the end of a hike I could see the mesh tearing if it hit a rock etc. The side pockets on the hip wouldn't even fit a small digital camera for easy access. I am an avid backcountry desert and snowshoe hiker and want comfort and convenience. This pack looked OK from the description, but didn't even fit right. 2nd pack I've tried with no bladder tube hydration opening on the outside (huh?) even though it said it held a hydration bladder.

GREAT FOR DAY HIKES

We haven't actually had a chance to give the pack a thorough beating on the trails just yet, but she's had it on and worn it around a bit. i love that the stitches are so tight and uniform, and all the zippers are sealed. The pack has this really cool feature that has made me want to get a kelty brand pack for myself, the back of the pack is nothing but mesh. The internal frame is a light weight pipe shaped to the pack with the mesh being wrapped tightly around it giving a couple inches of nothing but air resting against your back. (think trampoline) That's going to be so nice in July trekking through the Catskills. its hard to explain but if you look at the picture you will see the copper colored frame pipe thing. Like i said we haven't had the opportunity to test out its water resistance, or exactly how much it can carry comfortably but its more than enough pack for what we will be needing. Bottom line, light weight, comfortable, and thanks to Sierra Trading Post, dirt cheap!

Bought this pack because it was such a great deal so I thought why not? Well I'm VERY happy with it so far. I was looking for something bigger than my day pack but smaller than my backpacking bag and this was definitely the answer!! It's main use is for climbing and it holds everything I need!! Water, jacket, extra layer, harness, shoes, chalk bag, quick draws, AND the rope!! Plus I can put my guide book, snacks/lunch, camera and other supplies in the top pouch (which holds SO much!) The little pockets on the hip belt are perfect for keeping your swiss army knife or chapstick close at hand. And there's a loop on the back that I can attach my helmet to. One thing that surprised me was how LIGHT this pack is! It's nice to know that the weight I'm carrying is from my gear and not the pack itself. All of this plus the fact that it's comfortable (was totally adjustable to my small 5' tall frame) AND it's pretty! I couldn't be happier for the price I paid.
