Previous comment right on. We have taken three 14 day trips using this tent as well as on several other camping trips. We have a family of 5 and have used it over 25 times. Seems a bit big for just my husband and I but we still use it. We love it for the most part. The only times we had problems wit... Read More

This tent is HUGE, much larger than your average 4 person tent. It could fit 6 people easily! Therefore, it is too large to set up alone and requires at least two people with one being tall to get the rainfly over the tent due to its large height. Overall great construction and spacious but my mattress was wet on the bottom after one day of rain and some of the plastic clips that secure the tent to the poles arrived broken or broke upon set-up due to their flimsy construction. We bought some mini caribiners to use in place of. Other than those issues, we really enjoy screened fly and room.

My wife and I wanted to camp at the Assateague Island National Seashore. We wanted a tent that had enough room for a queen size air mattress with room left over. I wanted a tent that would accommodate my 2 meter long body. We also wanted a tent that had a separate space for us to sit free of insects. This tent was everything we wanted. It is compact when packed and fits easily in the car. I would not want to back pack it, at least not without at least three sturdy friends to share the load.

Gret tent for extended stays. Should have two people to set up. The pole which extends the fly over the vestibule is a little fussy to insert, but the vestibule is great to have. We bought ours for an extended trip to Alaska, and it was a great choice.

This is a good car camping tent for the price--one of the few reasonably priced large tents with decent rain fly coverage. I'm happy with the purchase but have a few complaints:

1 - The sleeves for the tent poles are a bit tight, with the one on the rain fly especially troublesome as the pole barely fits.

2 - The poles are cheap and heavy. The connection between the pole sections are especially bulky (further adding to the problem of getting the poles through the sleeves). If the tent had better poles with joints that were smooth, the sleeves probably wouldn't be such a problem.

3 - There are flaps to cover the screens in the rain fly; however, the flaps aren't going to keep out heavy rain. I'd rather just have a solid fly without the screens.

I've been working with a backpacking Kelty tent for the last 5 years, and have very little room once we fit our two cots iniside! So it was time for us to upgrade to a more recreational tent, and we knew we wanted Kelty- this was a phenomenal deal, well worth the cost. I can see this lasting us at least another 5 years (we camp very regularly). The fly was slightly difficult the first time, but I think it will get easier as we set this up more in the coming summer. I'm very happy with my purchase, especially after we were caught in a torrential thunderstorm the first weekend out with it, and stayed perfectly dry!
