Nice, simple backpack for city commuting as well as for outdoor activities. Straps are heavily padded and comfortable. There is no waist strap; however, the relatively small size of the backpack limits the weight one might be carrying so waist support is probably not essential. This pack is sturdy yet attractive--particularly good for women.

I love the shape and color, but trying to acclimate to the lack of convenience. (I want it to work). I like that my large laptop fits OK, but it still requires additional padding. The straps are not as comfortable as my last pack, but adequate. I like that it's compact and unburdened by straps that dangle. It needs one more pocket with easy access for wallet and Cell Phone and perhaps a place to slip a bottle of water or a ready train ticket. I do like Kelty quality and design.
Best Uses: day to day
Cons: Awkward access for wallet, Designed for yesterday, No cell phone pocket, Straps are only adaquaate
Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer
Pros: Good proportions, Handsome color and shape, Nice heavy material

I needed a carry on for a recent trip and in order to keep to the two item maximum, I bought this Kelty backpack. It was perfect for all my electronics that I needed to bring with me. My 15 inch laptop fit in perfectly. I used the backpack as my "purse" and had room for my wallet, travel papers, and other personal items. I am so glad I bought this backpack!

I'm traveling in a few weeks and needed a "personal item" for the plane, along with my carry-on. This backpack is perfect since it holds my laptop and all the other electronic gadgets I'm bringing. It will be my "purse" for my travel. Since I'll be on three different airlines, I wanted to have something that was within the maximum linear dimensions required by each airline. The Kelty Lark fit the bill.

Question
“Is there a separate compartment in which you can place a 15" laptop? People are saying that they can put their laptops in this backpack, but it doesn't seem like there's anything protecting the laptop from the other things you put in there.”
