Kelty Trail Ridge 6 Tent - 6-Person, 3-Season

Have only set it up in the yard, still waiting for a chance to test it in the field. It fits what we were looking for perfectly: 6 person, good vestibule area without being too large of a footprint, easy to set up and looks like it will hold up to most weather conditions. Definitely a car camping tent, but that's what it was purchased for. We tried one other tent, but found that the huge vestibule made the footprint much larger than car camping sites would typically accommodate.

Took this tent backpacking with my wife and kids. I was very pleased with the ease of setup and the size of the tent, tall and roomy! I'm 6' 4" so the height of the tent and the length are greatly appreciated. The gear loft and 4 mesh pockets were very handy. Split the poles, fly and tent up and you could easily back pack with this. Seams appear sturdy and nice. I'm really pleased with this tent and will use it for car camping and backpacking.

After having rented tents from [@] including the Base Camp 4 and Kingdom 6, I researched tents to purchase. I found the 4-person tents to be too small for myself and my two daughters (sure we fit, but it was a little tight and you had to step over each other to get in and out of the tent). The Kingdom 6 was nice and large, but it was heavy and bulky, and the zippers on the flys didn't work that well (they kept getting stuck in the material). It also didn't seem that stable if you didn't stake it down. It swayed fairly easily. I like the quality of Kelty gear and the Trail Ridge 6 seemed to be well designed. Sierra Trading Post had a great price on the tent, so I purchased it. It is much lighter weight and more compact than the Kingdom 6. I set it up in the back yard to test it out. It was very easy to assemble and seems quite sturdy. The zippers on the flys work well. The rain cover fits nicely. I did not check the waterproofness of it, but I assume (and hope) it is waterproof. The size is nice. I could fit a queen and two twin blowup mattresses in the tent. My girls played in it for 3 straight days in the backyard and love it. They find it easy to open and close and quite roomy.There are 2 cons. One is that the material for the floor seems a little thin. Although I purchased the Kelty footprint, it would be nice to have a heavier material for the floor. The second is the carrying bag. It is made of fairly thin material and already has a small tear at one of the seems. I'll likely have to purchase a better duffle to carry it in at some point, because I don't see this one lasting.Overall, I am very happy with the tent, its quality, weight and ease of assembly.

we got this for a family of 4 and there is plenty of room for us, gear and 2 dogs !!!

This tent exceeded my expectations. Plenty of vertical and floor space (able to fit two standard+ air matresses), the tent poles are sturdy yet light, it even kept us dry in the pouring rain! Definitely well worth the price.
