My newborn loves being able to face out & see everyting going on around us. He doesn't mind if we're doing housework, yardwork, grocery shopping, or going for a hike - he loves being close to me and the freedom to look around with legs and arms free. We initially tried the Infantino brand, not even close to the comfort & quality of Kelty! I would recommend this product to all parents!

My wife and I got 2 of these for our twin boys. However, those little dudes aren't quite here yet, and since my wife wouldn't let me put our Shih Tzu in one to try it out, I can't give 1st hand experience. But the harness does seem to be very well made, and comfortable even for a chunkster like me.

I was excited about this carrier, because the one I have doesn't allow the child to face out. I love the facing out feature. But unfortunately there isn't a waist belt to allow your hips to carry your babies weight. My baby weighs 15lbs and I had back strain and shoulder pain from carrying her around the block, and I'm a very active person.

It's very versatile as far as the weight range, the direction you can face the child, and adjustable to fit man or woman. Great product!

Very nice, but a little too large for newborns--they aren't tall enough to see out, and from my baby's perspective, that's an important issue. She likes to look up and see me or her mother, and the carrier is a little too big for that yet. Once she grows a little more, I expect it will be perfect. Classic sturdy Kelty product.

This baby carrier has worked well for walks and household chores since our daughter has grown to over 10 lbs and became more fussy after reaching 5-6 weeks of age. A long and somewhat cumbersome cloth wrap/carrier worked better when she was smaller. Both my husband and I like the relative ease of adjusting the straps for each of us since I'm 5'4" and he's 5'11" tall. It seems as sturdy as the well known Bjorn carriers and the quick release hip straps (Bjorns don't have) make getting baby out much easier (I did once it without waking her!) plus providing a snugger fit for slimmer and younger babies.

This product is absolutely great, very comparable to the Bjorn carriers in terms of comfort and durability but way more inexpensive. Love It!!!

Solid build. Easy to adjust. Comfortable fit (I'm a fit 210 lb, 6 foot guy!)Only reason I wouldn't give it 5-stars is because it's advertised as an 8-25lb carrier....and there is just no way that I can see this working on a baby that small. We just received ours 3 days ago, our little right now is 5 weeks and 12lbs....and he *barely* fits in there. He's partially able to hold his head up already, which makes it usable with him facing my chest. But I just can't see how you could fit a baby in there (8-10lbs).Our little guy is also pretty long (24 inches), so there's enough of the pouch to catch his head (side to side). But shorter than 22 inches? I dunno. I suspect that's why they warn that your baby could fall out if he's too small -- the top flap wouldn't catch their head...and hence they could just tip right over. The original list price of [$] is definitely too high. Let's face it -- for that price, you might as well just get a Baby Bjorn. But if you're looking for something cheaper that is still very functional, I think this Kelty at Sierra's discount price is a *good* purchase. Not the best deal I've ever scored at Sierra Trading Post...but it's a solid purchase.
