Like the adult form of this product, these shirts are a staple at my house. In the end they can be worn as a "sweatshirt" in colder weather. I would suggest the use of all THREE weights, lightweight, midweight, and the heavyweight like this item.

This is an ok base layer. The mid section is a little too roomy while the sleeves are about 3" too short for my 12 year old. Since it's a base layer and was inexpensive, I'll keep it but it's not the best.
I bought 2 polarskin base layer tops in M for my 8 yr old. He is average height and weighs 60#.They are very soft and VERY warm!

I ran into some problems here regarding size myself. In this shirt (I was buying for an 11 yr. old) I ordered a M---he is usually a 10-12. If I remember correctly,
because of sizing problems, I switched to a Terramar shirt---they run true to size. With the Kenyon shirt I expect a Medium would work out. For measurements,
if you contact Customer Service, you might get an answer.
