“tight waist band”

“I got these for a cold backpacking trip to be worn under thin hiking pants or alone for sleeping. I like them fine except the waistband is tight and the rise is very high. I don't like things tight around my waist and I even ordered a size up to try to head this problem off. As far as the waistband, it can't easily but cut and to make the pants useful for me I'd have to cut off the whole thing and drop in new elastic after decreasing the rise so they don't pull up to my ribs! Will return them.”
