This is a very substantial garment - not just a thin layer. Fabric feels almost spongey. I love the fit - I'm a 5'10", 150 lb woman and the size medium is a perfect fit, with adequate length in the arms and the shirt. Washed once and came out exactly as it was before, no shrinkage or misshaping.

I usually wear a large in tops, although the current fashion for clingy clothes does not appeal to me. The first one I ordered was a large, and it fit me perfectly by my standards....with some give in it so I don't feel claustrophobic wearing it. The inside is super soft, and the arms have good cuffs so the heat stays in. If the neck had been lined with the soft inside fleece, I would have given this a 5. However, it is made of the outside material. Comfortable enough, but not as good as fleece would have been. Nevertheless, I really liked this top, so ordered another one in large.. When it came I had trouble getting it on. Although both marked large, these two were clearly different sizes. Factory problems in China, it appears. I suspect that the first one I got was actually an XL, because I also ordered two larges of this shirt in the style with no turtleneck, and they were the same size as the second large.
The true test will be now this shirt wears. I have other clothing items with a similar outside material and it has pilled horribly. No pilling so far in this one.

I just received this piece today. It is of great quality. It happened to be 40 degrees with the wind blowing at about 10 mph so I put it on with a thermal shirt underneath and walked outside. It was pretty warm. I could've comfortably stayed outside for quite some time but think the wind would have eventually got to me. But it doesn't claim to be windproof. I took the advice of other reviews and sized down. I normally wear a large so ordered a medium. Wish I would've stuck with the large. I can wear the medium but I don't like clingy clothing. But it does stretch pretty well so I guess I'll keep it. If I order another, which is a possibility, I will order a large. I have rather wide hips so it doesn't cover my hips like other reviewers claim. As a matter of fact, it is a bit tight through that area. All in all, it will keep me warm on my walks and runs and that was the purpose. Also, I love the fact that it is made in the USA.

Very warm and comfortable, but as others have mentioned, the sizing is way too big and shape is very boxy (no shaping at the waist as in the photo). To me, it appears to actually be a slim Men's size Large mislabeled as Women's. (Kenyon products seem to vary in in size/materials between colors; I purchased Black.) It was so huge when I tried it on, I asked my son, who generally wears a Men's Medium, to try it on. The sleeves were long on him, but otherwise it fit him well. He liked it and is keeping it.
I bought one of these in December because it reminded me of a pullover a friend has from a rather expensive outdoor retailer. She loves her pullover and is always quite warm in it and I liked it but wasn't willing to pay as much as she did for one. Then I found this, and the reviews looked good, and I had a discount code so I went for it. I pretty much have worn it constantly since I got it!
It is a bit odd in feeling--the reviewer who described it as "spongey" was on target. That's the outside--smooth and stretchy. The soft, warm nap is on the inside. It stretches beautifully so it is super comfortable to wear and it is very warm, much warmer than one would expect for what is not a terribly thick layer. It is meant as a base layer, though, so it is not windproof at all, but it is very warm and insulating under something windproof. I find it a little thick to be a true underlayer, so I wear a silk underwear top under it, then this pullover, then a vest or something in my cool house, and put a shell over it all if I go out. If the weather is mild, it would serve for an outerlayer for active times, like hiking.
I usually wear and extra large (or a woman's 14 to 16) but I read reviews and went with a large which was the perfect size for me. It is close fitting, as it should be but not too tight to have a thin layer under it (I've even put a thermal shirt under it). I think with the black, it looks good close fitting and is somewhat slimming (and I do not have a perfect figure by any means!) I'm 5'6'' and weigh about 165 and it comes down over my hips, which is a fine length for this, I think. I can tuck it into pants (but for the most part don't).
Anyway, I like it so much I've decided to buy another!
