Khombu Summit Zip 3 Winter Boots - Waterproof (For Men)
Closeouts. Cast off your tired, old winter workhorses and zip into the modern cold-weather comforts of Khombu's Summit Zip 3 winter boots. These handsome boots feature a waterproof design that's lined with supersoft faux-fur and fitted with a Thermolite® insole for added underfoot warmth.
Reviewed by ADK hiker from Adirondacks on Tuesday, December 16, 2014First of all, the positives. The gusseted tongue and zip make for easy on and off without letting snow in. I use the boot as my winter "commuter" boot to and from work, and switching shoes is effortless. However, the fit and durability of the boot are substandard. The zip does not fully close, and the tongue shifts awkwardly to apply excess pressure on the shin; not enough to bruise, but enough to be noticed much of the time. The footbed is uneven in one foot, causing further discomfort; again, not enough to cause real pain, but enough to be noticed. I am starting my second season in the boot, only wearing it to and from work, and the cemented welt is already separating on both boots.
Reviewed by HighSierraHiker from Northern Nevada on Friday, December 13, 2013I buy quite a bit of gear from STP, some of it more high-end, some of it more for everyday usage. The Khombu Summit falls into the latter category. I've been wearing them a lot since buying them and I like them. Tread is serious and does well in the snow. The faux fur on the inside is great. No problems encountered so far. I won't be summitting Shasta in these, but for staying warm around town they are great. Quality boot for the price.
Reviewed by Uncle Bo from Mississippi on Tuesday, December 3, 2013First of all, I really like these boots and if they continue to hold up, I will consider getting another pair when this pair wears out.
The zip up enclosure allows for a secure fit. So they don't feel like they are about to fall off your feet, like a lot of other slip on style boots. I read in the other reviews about how many people liked them, but some did complain about the accuracy of the fit. I wear an 11.5 in a running shoe and an 11 in a hiking boot. So, I ordered an 11 in a medium width (which was all that was available at the time) in this boot and it fits fine. I have a kind of wide foot. So, it could be a little wider to be perfect, but its not bad at all. Once I wore them 2-3 days they seem to have adjusted fine and are very comfortable now.
They have great traction on the soles and are a good looking boot, as well.

Reviewed by Milko from NYC, USA on Thursday, March 7, 2013pros:
- good sturdy
- very warm
- great traction in wet, ice surfaces
- oddly shaped. I usually wear 8.5 to 9.0, but I had to go to a 9.5 as my big toe was still hitting the front with a 9.0; then the 9.5 feels big in width and height. Although It is wearable, and I finally kept it
Reviewed by GreenEB from North Dakota on Wednesday, March 6, 2013My husband says these are warm and keep his feet dry. They do run big, especially for boots. He normally wears a 10.5 in athletic shoes (the brand with the swoosh, for reference :), and he ended up wearing a 9.5 in these. We didn't have zipper issues like other reviewers mentioned, so that was great too!

Reviewed by Northern Camper from Iron Range on Thursday, February 14, 2013They are comfortable but after a couple months of use the zippers no longer stay up making them pretty much useless now.
