Kiva Designs Convertible Sling Pack

Interesting product however I'm not sure what need is met. When the attached pack is stowed inside the sling pack (shown in the product photos)there is very little room for anything else. Manufacture quality is very high.

The slingpack converts to a tote bag, not a backpack as description says. Can only be used as tote because when collapsed/folded into slingpack there is no room to put anything inside. A dumb design and not practicle for any use.

I used it as a purse and backup back pack on a trip to Nova Scotia. It worked well and was easy to carry.

This went back to my friends at The Post so quick, my mailman was stunned! I am a huge Kiva fan, owning most of their bags for commuting, travel, gym, etc. This one should be labelled low quality backpack which collapses for easy storage. A sling bag it is, in the most strident sense of the word-there literally is no room within to pack anything! The backpack expansion option takes up literally all of the very confined space that there is. All I wanted it for was a small diaper bag to take along for very short trips and could not easily fit a size 5 disposable in it! Eas to see why this is a close-out, more like a has-been. Sorry, I am a big fan of the store and Kiva, but this one bites solidly.

We travel overseas alot and usually collect much more than we brought with us, with no where to pack it to bring it home. This sling provides a carrying place for sunglasses, passport, credit cards and money (not much more), and allows it all to be carried "body-close" and yet will expand to provide space for the "bring-homes", staying within the airlines rule of "1 carry-on". I think that's the best use of this item as the sling really doesn't provide much room. It's the promise of space with the backpack that's attractive.

I am mystified by the one star review. I just returned from a 3 week sojourn to China, and this bag was indispensable. It folds up into a tiny sling that my 4 year old thinks is really cool to carry. Then, I would pick up four huge bottles of drinking water from a market, and the bag folds out and accomodates that weight and much more without damage to the structure. It's truly sturdy AND lightweight, a difficult combo to find.

I like this bag because it can be large enough for a carry on bag and small enough to use as a purse for shopping.

It is not able to be used as a sling because the expandable backpack takes up almost every inch of space. I assumed by the description that there was some sort of external pocket that it fit into.

Advertised as a dual purpose bag. It's not. In over-the-shoulder mode, there is virtually no room for even the small things one usually has a shoulder bag for.

I removed the backpack option fabric and use it as a across-the-body sling. The multiple zipper compartments and light weight make it ideal for travel or a shopping day. I can put a water bottle in the mesh holder, too.
