Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Verified Buyer Reviewed by bn from St Paul, MN on Tuesday, December 18, 2012I am 5'4" and 115 lbs and the size 36 was perfect, with still enough room for comfortable layering and not being bulky.
Based on a previous reviewer, I expected this to feel like a cashmere scarf to the touch. And it does, sort of. While it is very soft on the surface, its not a plush fabric meaning you can still feel the hints of something synthetic below.
A huge complaint from my boyfriend is it still makes a little crinkle noise when you move your arms (he just hates the swoosh swoosh sound of a ski jacket as someone passes!)
I tested it shoveling snow in 10 degrees last week and it was almost too warm.
I really like the jacket, so I am going to keep it. If I paid retail though I would have returned it, since its not the 100% thick plush wool-cashmere feel I was hoping for. But its close enough for this deal!!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by cbgirl from McLean, VA on Saturday, December 1, 2012Very nice understated jacket made with beautiful materials. Drawback is it lacks some of the technical details of Kjus' sportier ski jackets (fewer zippers and pockets, which I need for skiing.) Since it's pricy, I haven't decided whether to keep it or not...
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Toni M from San Diego, CA on Sunday, November 18, 2012If you want to know more about this jacket then google Loro Piana. This company's fabrics are amazing. Kjus has partnered with them to use their amazing fabric with the Kjus quality and styling. Loro Piana's own line sells for an average of $3-4 thousand for a garment. Yes, that is correct:} By sizing, saying "true to size" means if you are familiar with Kjus sizing. The rule of thumb with Kjus is to size up. I am a very petite size 6 in most clothing, but wear a size 38 in Kjus with a perfect fit. A size 36 is best for a normal size 4. This jacket is not really made for skiing. It is part of the Kjus Spirit line, which is "lifestyle" clothing. You could ski in it, but the best use for the jacket is casual wear in the mountains or in the city. STP's price with the discount coupon is really a steal. You can't really appreciate what this jacket is without touching it. I do not have the budget to buy this jacket at retail, or any of the Loro Piana pieces either. But now I am spoiled. If you want to know how it might feel to be a part of the 01%, then this jacket will give you an idea. I call it my "rich girl" jacket. I am NOT a "classic" person with my wardrobe. I am quite trendy and fashion forward. I will wear this jacket with skinnies and some super cool rockstar boots. The jacket would even rock with leather legging type skinnies. I have the perfect hat and the perfect scarf to make it look just the right amount of edgy. If this isn't you, then it's fine. The jacket is so well fitted and so well made that you can wear with a more classic look as well. I am beyond grateful to STP for selling this jacket at an unbelievable price. It's still out of range for a lot of us, but it is truly an investment piece. There is only one left and if it's your size, you've found Nirvana. It's rated at 5000mm water proofing. This won't be good in a downpour, but fine for dryer snow and the light kind of rain in the Pacific Northwest.
