Closeouts. Who said steel toe footwear had to be uncomfortable? With Kodiak KQ2 work shoes, you get the protection of steel toes with the support and style of a hiking shoe.
A lot of times a full work boot is too cumbersome and clunky for the days work. I don't like working in running shoes (I run in running shoes) and they offer little protection. These shoes combine the best of both worlds and with a nice price, too. They probably could have been just as good with a plastic or fiber toe cap rather than a full steel toe as they make the shoes a bit heavy. But certainly not as heavy as full boots! My biggest complaint is the worthless innersole. It is almost as thin as the packing paper. So I put in a pair of Spenco Sport soles and they hardly come off my feet. The other thing is they came with plastic bubble emblems on the outer sole at the heel. These started to peel off within a week. I tried to reattach them but that didn't work, so I'm leaving them off. No one will notice and they're, uh, work shoes!

Best Uses:
Wet Weather, Work
Describe Yourself:
Comfort-oriented
Sizing:
Feels full size too big
Width:
Feels too wide
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Bought these for work hoping I could wear them instead of traditional brewer's rubber boots. Put some Dr. Scholl's gel inserts in after the first day since they killed my feet. The inserts helped a lot and made the shoes seem not so oversized. Generally waterproof but some water gets in around the tongue area. The shoes are really heavy, too, which is expected with the steel toe.
