I bought these for my husband for telemarking. He is very hard on his poles but this one seems pretty durable. My only beef is that I wish the pole would fold down shorter-it's about 3' in length- which limits it's packability for travel. Other than that- I anticipate years of happy tele-turns with the pole. The flick-licking mechanism is great as well!

I got these poles because I knew they would be very durable, and I have some lighter weight adjustable poles that I worry about in the backcountry. The grips are comfortable. The poles are very heavy, as expected. The large baskets was also a reason I got them, as well as the long ferrules with pointy tips, which so many adjustable poles don't have. The baskets are great but if they were more flexible they would be more useful on steep slopes for climbing. If the trail is packed at all, the basket causes the pole to slip out easily, even with the long ferrule. Shortening the poles when climbing the steeps helps. The stiff baskets also catch on weeds easier than a flexible basket would. I really like the long ferrules with points though - don't understand why all BC poles don't have these. I've only used these for skiing, and I think their better use might be for snowshoeing, where you use a short pole.

Fine for snow shoeing. After about a month's useage, the only problem I had was two rivets on the basket (I did crash in the process) - easy fix if you have the tool and some long rivets.
