“When I took these out of the box I thought they were great! I took them skiing the next day and was convinced that carbon was the way to go! After about three hours skiing (telemarking actually) I had a small crash where I got turned around and almost fell over. During the crash I ran over one of the poles and there was a little crack sound. The result was that with a little shake the pole broke in half! I have had much, much more damaging crashes with my old aluminum poles without any problem. So I would guess that the poles were either defective or that carbon is an inferior product? Who knows. But you might want to look into the Scott RS-10 Ski Poles. I just ordered them and hope they are better!”
