Komperdell Thermafleece Balaclava - UPF 50+ (For Men and Women)

Not a snug fit. warm, but gaps allowed air to penetrate the sides, plus the large size did not fit under my bike helmet well.

Bought this for face and neck protection. I was looking for a product to cover the nose and high cheek area. This does not quite cover that without sliding down around the mouth area. It could also be longer in the neck area to cover down further. If you're expecting to breath through the material while exerting yourself, the fabric will limit the intake of air. It's really not made to cover the mouth during rapid breathing. Normal breathing is fine. I find this product comfortable and warm.

I use it mainly for walking the dog in cold weather. Keeps my ears and neck warm no matter how cold it is. I Wish I had gotten one before now.

Excellent except for very cold or windy because it lacks a nose bridge.

After envying a friend's while skiing in freezing temps last winter, I decided to grab a balaclava before ski season started up this year. Having never used one before, I have nothing to compare this one to, but can already tell what a difference it will make in my comfort level. The fleece interior and smooth exterior are very comfortable, and the thin material makes layering easy. The only slight drawbacks I've noticed (if I'm being very picky) are: 1) I wish the opening was a bit smaller. I worry that my forehead might be too exposed, or by shifting the opening to better cover my forehead, my mouth/chin might be too exposed. 2) There's a seam in the front mouth/chin section that seems like it could be a bit rough. It would be nice to have that part smooth and seam free. That being said (along with the disclaimer that I haven't taken this skiing yet), I'm very happy with this purchase, and know I'll be much warmer and more comfortable than I was last year!

Used it when I am on photo shoots and the temp is down to 20 below zero or lower. It keeps my ears from freezing.

Very comfortable and does not interfer with glasses.

I just got back from the most intense 8 mile hike I've ever even heard of, lots of snow and steep terrain this balaclava kept the sweat off of my head and the snow outside. I would order a size small though, I have a BIG head (9 3/4) and I'm wearing the medium-large with a perfect fit.
