Use for regular weekend hikes in the local mountains. Really works well on the downhill stretches. I am in my mid-60's and this helps a lot. Also nice to have something handy to deal with the occasional rattlesnake or aggressive dogs.

I am using these on day hikes and also longer backpacking trips. I will also be using them this winter for snowshoeing.

My husband is 6'7" and these are long enough for even him. Can be shortened to fit in a suitcase when traveling by air. When hitting something hard, they have a little spring, that doesn't irratate my Carpel tunnel after walking all day. Good material, well constructed & nice leather straps. Should last for years, I plan to use them for snowshoeing & hiking. These won't go out of style!

I love the cork grips. I prefer them over the foam grips on other poles. I am between a lightweight and an ultralight weight backpacker. While these poles are not the lightest, they are still light enough to suit me. I will never hit a trail without my poles.
