Reviewed by Gman from Galway NY on Saturday, January 19, 2013Was disssapointed in that one of the 4 rivets attaching the leather loop to the pole failed. I ended up re-attaching it with a small stainless steel bolt and nut. This was after buying the two sets. My hope is that this one rivet was badly attached and not indicative of the others.

Then I tried holding the pole with a pair of pliers and twisting the basket off. That scraped up the pole and did not remove the basket. I eventually had to clamp the pole in a vise and have my 23 year old strapping muscley son twist the basket off. The pole ended up deformed by the vise so I could not return the pole, but I durn well returned the baskets. Just buy a pair of ski poles rather than trying to mess with these.

Answer Leather baskets will be a little bit more free moving, but other than that its all preference.

Answer I ordered these to go with the carbon-bamboo Komperdell ski poles and the hole is way too large for the poles.
