    • Answer Baskets ARE interchangable by any knowledgeable ski shop. Simply put the pole in a pot of near boiling water - submerging the pole basket for about 5 minutes. The basket will then twist right off. Slip your preferred basket over the end immediately and align it properly with the grip handle before the hot glue cools and sets. You'll be ready to go in less than 10 minutes. By the way, grip handles can be exchanged the same way. However, pole diameters do vary and while you can but a slightly larger basket on a pole you cannot put a smaller one on. You can also shorten poles by sawing off and inch or two at the bottom and usually 4 to 6 inches at the top (after removing the handles of course!)
