I decided to go for an adjustable pole for my daughter who is now 10 years old. The kids adjustable poles are maxing out at 110 CM which is where this one starts and where my daughter is now.

I was a little worried about weight being more than a regular pole or the grips being to big for a 10 year old, but in both cases they work fine.

Also, the twist lock is nice in that it doesn't stick out.

I will note that for a "backcountry" ski pole, I would think that they would come with powder baskets but they come with baskets more appropriate for piste skiing. That's fine for my daughter who doesn't see much powder, but something to consider for any of you true back country skiers.

They could be used as hiking poles in the summer, but I haven't had the opportunity to try them like that.
