    When the product arrived, the "tightener" on one pole did not work. As a result, the pole will not stay fixed to any length but the shortest one. The other works fine though. It was not worthwhile to return both to replace one so the nonfunctional one went into the trash, and I walk with only one.

    The poles are light weight and also compress into a size that fit into my duffle bag. They did get some scratches from using them on rocks that required lots of balance but they survived quite well.

    This set of poles is a great value. They are very sturdy yet lightweight. They can be compact enough to fit into a carry-on bag or strap to your backpack. The adjustment mechanism is very easy yet secure. They are comfortable to use. I have used them for shorter hikes so far (3 hours or less) but would definitely take them on longer hikes and backpacking trips.

    I use the poles mainly for hiking or snowshoeing in snow. I called the company for winter baskets since they came with summer baskets. They sent me the new baskets immediately at no charge. The poles are fine.

    This was my 2nd time hiking and it was Mt Dana in Yosemite National Park. My friend could not take his poles because they didn't fit in our checked luggage... this pole fits in the 62" bag... These pole got us up and back down... they worked perfectly!
