These poles are a great deal. They are fairly light weight and the carbide tips really help them stick to surfaces.

I bought these to just help me walk on Duluth's icy winter streets and parking lots -esp in early winter/early spring. The poles help me walk with a regular gait instead of waddling like a penguin!

Poles really lock. My old twist lock poles kept slipping when back country skiing. The grips are soft and do not get slippery when cold. Easy to use locking system, even with gloves.

I will use these poles for backcountry/mountain snowshoeing. My current poles have a twist lock mechanism for adjusting length. On the seriously cold days the twist locks often fail to allow adequate tightening and therefore slippage can occur. The komperdell's "Powerlock" mechanism is a pleasant surprise. It is easy to use and locks down well. I am pleased with everything about the poles, grips, material, locking mech are all top notch.

Great affordable, lightweight poles. Easy to adjust on the fly. Shaft grips are nice. So good looking that someone picked them up in the parking lot and I'll never see them again. :(

Nice poles---simple locking mechanism, durable & light. Too short to a tall x-c skier.

I've only gotten one day's use out of the poles, but my wife has a similar model, which I've used before. The flip lock works great and the poles are comfortable. The foam grips tend to hold snow (only a problem if you fall - my wife never noticed it with hers), and the straps have a little bit of padding, which can hinder removal before you get on the lift. Aside from that, they work great so far.
