I'm 5'2" and finally I don't have to carry around enough metal to support a 6-footer! I have the poles lengthened now for use in snow, and there's still room to expand. I haven't had any problems with poles collapsing.

I bought these for my 76 year old mother. She has a bad knee and is always worried she will fall in the snow and ice if her knee gives out. So I got these thinking they would do the job and she LOVES them! She said there is a world of difference between walking unattended and having poles to support her. Also, because she once was a skier, she is overjoyed because it reminds her of skiing.

This is my second pair of trekking poles. I have something wrong with my left shoulder that bothered me with my previous poles. The Anti-shock made a difference. These were very lightweight. I am 5'3" and they worked fine.

These poles were exactly what I was looking for, something to help lighten the load on a bad Achilles for long hikes and under heavy loads. There is no problem with the length, there are two points of adjustment and they are plenty long. I have never used poles before except for skiing and snowshoeing so this was new and different for me but turned out to be quite handy. Even used them to help support and lift the tarp we slept under while camping.

My wife loved the poles but was unhappy that the rubber feet didn't come standard with them. I had to go out and buy a pair.
