Overall, these seem to be great poles at a great price. I really like the feel of them - seem to really feel nice in your hand, plus the anti-shock is great. Very light-weight and easy to adjust. Also, I like the straps. Excellent value. My only concern is the durability of the cork grip. The grips on each pole are two halves glued together around the top of the pole - you can see the seam in them. I had to return one pair after first use for replacement because the grip seemed to be coming apart at the seams (Sierra Trading Post is always fantastic on backing up their stuff!). I just took the new pair out and seems fine, but we'll see in the long run. The grips do feel really good, and hopefully the first problem was just a fluke.

Solid, lightweight, easy to adjust. I haven't used them a lot so can't judge durability, but there is not a lot to go wrong. Probably didn't need the extra length grips, but I like the cork.

One of the poles keeps switching to shock mode. What is up with that?

I have another brand of spring cushioned poles which are much smoother...more like a piston than a spring. The spring in these models feels like a spring for sure. Some cushioning but it's rough.

I have used these poles for a week-long backpacking trip and a few day hikes. They have been fantastic for stability when carrying weight, walking in or crossing rivers and for reducing joint stress when hiking down steep hills. They feel very light to me. The locking mechanism for adjusting length (twist to loosen and twist back to tighten) has been ok but might be problematic in very cold conditions. The anti-shock locking mechanism comes undone on my right hand pole when I go up hills because I put pressure on my right pole while rotating it slightly. This isn't detrimental, but is sometimes annoying. They didn't come with plastic covers for the tips so I recommend buying some for when you transport and store them. All in all they are great poles for the price!

I hunt all over the world. So Trekking poles are needed when you are the mountains. They make a long day easier. This a product that will help you from sustaining falls, carry weight, and just make hiking faster.

Daily walker but also do mountain hiking. Tore minescus in my knee last year while running and had a major problem getting back to even walking. Got treking poles and use them daily. Perfect for keeping stress off knee and hip especially in mountain hiking. Easy to adjust, light weight.
