Komperdell Trekking Poles - Anti-Shock, Extended Grip, Compass, Pair

Xmas gift purchased for my GF. Haven't used but looks like great gear.

I haven't used these yet, but have borrowed Komperdell poles in the past. I bought the set to split (and to keep one in the car). The compass works on one, but doesn't on the other -- which does not matter to me. I've hiked on sand trails in the dunes, in forests, and over rocks with these and love the balance they provide.

Upgraded to these . Great grips , looks well built and very light . don't rely on the compass on the grips , don't think I've seen them move at all .

The use of the trekking poles lighten up the weight on your knees, prevent falls and also increase the number of calories your body uses when taking walks/or hikes.

Used several times for hiking and moderate climbs. Have had no issues to date.

I borrowed a pair 5 years ago for our BSA Philmont Trek. After 80+ miles,through the north country, up Baldy and back to Base Camp they performed beautifully; saved these old knees! Bought my own pair for this year's trek back at Philmont.

This is the second pair of trekking poles I have bought, my first pair were trials to see if it would be worth the investment. To my surprise when I got these, they were so much lighter and the grip more conforming than my old pair. Loved them! I have been hiking becoming an avid hiker took them to the Tahoe Rim with me. The only con is the poles came with a compass, one in each. On compass worked, the other didn't. The compass that actually worked fell out the first time I laid my poles down at our first stop and couldn't find it. The overall quality of the poles outweigh a little compass I wouldn't have used anyway.

These poles were just out of the box when my son asked to use them on his 5 day hike thru Yosemite. He called me upon his return stating that he would never go hiking again without them. So, he will buy me a replacement set so that I can finally get to use a set of these poles. He could find no issues to complain about.

I love the poles, but one of the compasses became lopsided and quit. The only other problem I had was that they came with no directions, at least not in English. Sierra Trading Post was wonderful in helping me and having someone call me promptly. I still have a little problem getting it all right, but once they get working, they are great. Truly saved my knees on steep rocky hikes in Alaska.
