“I have developed bad knees and a bad back over the years, so the staff at a local outdoors shop suggested trying trekking poles to ease some of the wear and tear on my body while hiking. After looking around at several high end and high priced models I saw these ones and thought "WOW. These look solid and are really cheap." Well, after I got them I found out WHY they were so cheap. I never even got to use them for hiking because when I was putting on the rubber tips that I ordered with them the pole snapped in two!!! I wasn't even putting my full weight on them(...and I only weigh 180 lbs). I was merely pushing the tips on to seat them securely and the cheap plastic shock absorber broke apart. I can't imagine what might have happened if I was out in the middle of a trail using this thing for support in a precarious situation. Take my advice and put a little extra money into your trekking poles and make sure they're well constructed.”
