I've hiked and backpacked Yosemite, in my backyard, many times, and at an age when balance and endurance are becoming more challenging, I found these poles enhanced both.

Purchased for a trip to Glacier National Park. I used them for several day hikes and they saved me from a few potential falls. Very sturdy and comfortable...especially the grips.

I live in rough rocky steep country. I have neuropathy in my feet and hands, i.e., no feeling, as a result of chemo-therapy for breast cancer. These poles are collapsible and easy to have with me when I am walking near my home. I am able to be as active as I ever was.

These poles are exactly what they are supposed to be. We had no problems getting used to them and they are easy to adjust and carry on a pack when the terrain is flat. We used them on a very steep hike the other day, and we had none of the normal down-hill soreness in the quads and shins. We should have bought poles years ago (we are not old people)!

Great poles. Just wish I had bought some for my girls because they take them every time we go hiking! Contrary to what the description says and contrary to what the STP customer service says, these do come with a pair of summer baskets.

Be careful you order the correct poles. The poles without anti-shock look just like the poles with anti-shock, but the comfort level is different
