A Very nice hiking pole, I'm sure these will last a life time, but they are a little heavy compared to other poles I have owned.

Good product, no back pain after hiking 5 miles with a pack weighing 45 lb, much less fatigued than without.

Strong, light, functional. My only issue was that I lost a basket while hiking, but was lucky enough to find it by back tracking a few hundred feet. It may have been that I hadn't locked it on properly while installing it. I'd buy em again, and recc. to my friends.

My husband has knee problems and using the poles helped him negotiate the trails easier, especially carrying a pack

These are comfortable poles. The cork handles are nice on sweaty hands. The anti-shock works well. They are a little narrower than my former poles that I actually wore out. This is why I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars. They tend to sink into soft dirt because they are so narrow at the bottom. But overall these poles meet my needs for day hiking.

I put poles through some tough hiking conditions: steep and rocky terrain. They support me going down some 45° inclines and helped me over some very steep steps. They stayed locked in position without slipping. I had absolutely no complaints with these poles. I wore out my first pair of poles and these are holding up wonderfully.

This is my second pair. My old ones have worked hard for almost 3 years and are still going but I don't want to have to go without them when they finally wear out. Knee pain was about to end my hiking career when I got these; when I use them it's a non-issue. I've also found using poles gives a great arm and shoulder workout and gets me uphill faster and with less effort. Love the cork grips! The baskets, not so much. Didn't put 'em on until a snow hike when I'd had the poles a year; they fell off the same day.

These poles are easy to adjust, sturdy, light, and, dare I say, pretty. I like the shape of the handles, but I notice that if I'm holding the poles with bare hands they get chaffed on the palms. There are grooves on the handle for grip, I believe, but it can be a bit much for a long hike. (I'm thinking that with more use and oil from my hands the cork will soon be more forgiving.) I did have a pole break, surprisingly, but STP handled it beautifully. If you haven't hiked with poles--TRY IT! You are faster, more stable, often can go farther, and you'll get some exercise for your arms, too. (Hiking triceps as well as calves!)

Love these poles! I've been using snowshoe poles for the last few years as I've started backpacking and hiking in the Adirondacks. Having passed more avid hikers on the trail with true trekking poles, I researched many before selecting these. Contrary to what some other reviews said, I found the adjustment quick, easy, and secure and the stability to be excellent. The tip really does bite. My first hike with them was up a small peak on mixed snow, ice, and bare rock, requiring microspikes on the boots, but the poles grab both ice and rock and hold true. So glad I made the switch!
