“A good, decently-priced pair of poles”

By TheBoatDudeVerified PurchaserVerified Reviewer from Millbrae, CA on 09/20/2011
Pros:
Flexible, Good grips, Lightweight
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
What Is Your Gear Style:
Comfort Driven
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
“Note that these are my first pair of hiking poles, so I do not have a frame of reference. These are not the top of the line, but so far (~35 to 40 miles of hiking) I like them. The twist lock is not the fastest way to adjust/collapse/extend the poles, but that's only a concern if you're speed-hiking (in my mind, at least). The cork grips are comfortable and poles have a nice amount of flex. These do not have the built in shock-absorbers, but I am not missing that feature. One small gripe is that the baskets are difficult to remove (which is good in one sense, but problematic if you want to change from summer to winter baskets).”
