The grips feel great and don't slip when you are sweating. Poles are very strong under pressure up and down trails. The pressure locks hold, yet are easy to break down. We've had them a year and are very pleased with the results.

Have used them on several day hikes and am very satisfied with them. The cork grips are very comfortable and won't blister your hands like rubber will. Be sure and NOT extend too far, they are a bear to put back together if you do. I have purchased addtional pairs for my son and daughter in-law for birthdays too.

Note that these are my first pair of hiking poles, so I do not have a frame of reference. These are not the top of the line, but so far (~35 to 40 miles of hiking) I like them. The twist lock is not the fastest way to adjust/collapse/extend the poles, but that's only a concern if you're speed-hiking (in my mind, at least). The cork grips are comfortable and poles have a nice amount of flex. These do not have the built in shock-absorbers, but I am not missing that feature. One small gripe is that the baskets are difficult to remove (which is good in one sense, but problematic if you want to change from summer to winter baskets).

These are light, easy to use, basic trekking poles. They make a noticeable difference on hills, especially when carrying a pack. Be sure to order the rubber tips.
