These are an aero section pole with rubber inserts in grip and a neoprene insert on the strap. The straps won't be all twisted when you need them to be open if you actually use the straps. The finish is matte.

Great ergonomic design. As mentioned in another review, easy to carry due to the design. I hope they last forever.

Just got done using these for 4 days in Mammoth. Yes they are very light and look nice, plus the grips are comfortable but could use a little more padding on them. the only problem is that these poles bend easy. On my second day using them in Mammoth they were bent, and had to straighten them that night. I'm a little aggressive but not extremely and I have used plenty of poles in the past. Even my girl friend was shocked how they bent so easy and was urging me to send them back. Don't get me wrong they are nice poles and the strap adjustment system is also very cool. I would definitely recommend them but beware that they may bend easily.

Putting the baskets on is easy if they are put in hot water first
