“I noticed these baskets lost on trails, so decided to design a fix. A: I drilled two 1/8" holes through basket hub parallel to pole shaft, then two more through basket. Next I threaded small cable ties through both holes, locked them. B: You could do the same thing by drilling two holes through just the basket and threading a longer cable tie around pole and through holes in baskets to prevent loss of basket. With method A, grasping the baskets to lock/unlock the poles will not remove the baskets. Komperdell poles have proven very durable for me in heavy backpacking, rock scrambling on peaks etc. STP is rock-solid supplier- with excellent Customer Service.”
