Komperdell Vario Trekking Pole Summer Baskets - Pair

Design problem: Komperdell's Bayonet-style fastening system is vulnerable to loss of the basket if twisted the wrong way when caught between rocks. I've lost several (in fact, the reason for this purchase). I'm going to try and do some sort of safety cord that enables me to retain the basket when it comes off.

I bought it just in case if I need to replace basket for my pole

These are original replacement parts that fit perfectly on my komperdell poles.

Used on my snow shoe poles for walking on the white sand beaches, in the summer heat, at sun down. Keeps the poles from sinking too deep into the sand, where the snow baskets would not.

It's a black plastic donut that does what it's supposed to. Easy to switch with snow baskets on Komperdell poles. Great STP price.

I noticed these baskets lost on trails, so decided to design a fix. A: I drilled two 1/8" holes through basket hub parallel to pole shaft, then two more through basket. Next I threaded small cable ties through both holes, locked them. B: You could do the same thing by drilling two holes through just the basket and threading a longer cable tie around pole and through holes in baskets to prevent loss of basket. With method A, grasping the baskets to lock/unlock the poles will not remove the baskets. Komperdell poles have proven very durable for me in heavy backpacking, rock scrambling on peaks etc. STP is rock-solid supplier- with excellent Customer Service.

They're baskets. good ones.

Have not yet utilized the product, however tested to see that they were the perfect fit for existing poles. Looking forward to having them for our spring and summer hikes.

Great on rocks. I lost one last year climbing a 14'er so I needed a replacement as the snow baskets are too big for summer hiking and no basket means the pole gets stuck between rocks.
