Komperdell Winter Trekking Pole Baskets - Pair

Design problem: Komperdell's Bayonet-style fastening system is vulnerable to loss of the basket if twisted the wrong way when caught between rocks. I've lost several (in fact, the reason for this purchase). I'm going to try and do some sort of safety cord that enables me to retain the basket when it comes off.

I'm using these for backcountry skiing

The locking technology on the length adjustment system works well and is convincingly sturdy and easy to use. Be sure and rotate the baskets to lock them on, or they will come off.

I needed some baskets to replace the soft powder baskets on my adjustable Komperdell poles and these winter baskets fit perfectly and work great on the ski hill.

I purchased with a set of komperdell adjustable length poles for showshoe and telemark. The baskets pop on the poles easily, but do not have a locking function. Only the friction of the plastic groove where it meets the base of the pole. I lost one powder basket on the first short outing. These fall off easily, so a hose clamp or other workaround will be necessary. Not good if you get way out in the back country in deep powder and loose a basket.

These are necessary for the deep snow in the back country.

I lead snowshoe tours in the winter, and need appropriate equipment for heavy use. I figured out how to get this basket on and off the pole relatively easily, but it is not easy enough to change on a daily basis. I also bought the larger baskets for deep snow and powder. I am hoping next winter's snow conditions are not too variable!
