5.0 out of 5 stars. A Big Cheer for the Korkers' Chrome Wading Boots
Reviewed by Anonymous from New Mexico on Wednesday, April 2, 2014
I had been fishing in the Korkers' Redside wading boots since May 2013 and these are great entry level boots. I moved up to the Chrome boots when I saw them listed on Sierra Trading Post. These boots are simply amazing. They are light weight, the lacing systems is simply and really speeds the whole lacing process, fit is excellent, and construction is top quality. While I still have the Redside boots as my backups, the Chrome boots are my "go to boots". The only question I have is the durability of the lacing system, though many of the guides at Taos Fly Shop here in New Mexico have used, and loved, these boots. The more do-dads you add to wading boots the greater chance of malfunction. However, I just don't care, all the features taken into consideration, they are one fine boot.

Finally, here in Northern New Mexico a lot of fishing requires a long steep hike down (and up) into the Rio Grande Gorge to fish for the large Cutbows and Browns in the Rio. The lightness of these boots are a huge advantage. Enjoy my fly fishing friends.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Korker;s

I love these boots. The are sturdy but light weight. Great for all day hiking to fishing spots. Interchangeable soles allow for different river structures and for drift boats or rafts.

The ratchet tightening system works well, especially in the winter when tying frozen or wet laces is tough to do. The actual boots are easier to get on in the winter, too. The material stays pliable, even when frozen.

I have a very narrow foot and can get them tight enough to fit snug.

The wading boots are really cool...versatile in that you can switch soles from felt to rubber. Also like the "lace" system....uses a wheel to tighten or loosen laces. Very convenient boot as well as nice looking
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Light Wading Boots!

Bought two pair, one for myself and one for my wife. They fit just fine and are very light.

A big plus, especially when traveling by air to the next fishing destination or spending a full day on the stream.

The interchangeable soles work well and can be easily replaced when worn out.
The lacing system sure beats the standard old style string laces.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Korkers are the bomb

These boots are lightweight and true-to size. Having MS, my left foot morphs during the day and I usually have to go to shore to adjust the laces and fit several times a day. Not so with Korkers, a twist of a knob tightens them and pulling the knob out loosens them. It's such a great system even the big budget 'brand name' wading boots copied Korkers Boa lacing system.
I'm waiting to see how long it takes them to also copy the modular sole system that has been a trademark feature of Korkers for a very long time. Just as in everything else, over time Korkers has improved on their sole swapping system.

About Korkers

Believe it or not, the first Korkers boots were cobbled together in a small basement workshop more than 50 years ago using scrap rubber, nylon cord and carbide spikes. Shortly thereafter, the now-famous "River Cleats" were born, and this highly functional wading sole system soon became a favorite among local fishermen. Over the years, Korkers wading boots have grown to include amazing innovations like OmniTrax V2 interchangeable sole technology. In addition to trusted performance on the river, Korkers winter boots also provide the same outstanding traction on snowy and icy terrain. When you need maximum grip on the slickest surfaces, this is the footwear brand for you.
