Krek—a tanning process applied to the sueded leather side of natural shearling (lambskin or sheepskin with the fur left on) that renders the suede resistant to water and stains. Krek leather conveys a more casual look than suede, having a semi-gloss surface texture that acquires a light nap after six to eight months of wearing. Unlike suede, which does not tolerate a lot of precipitation, Krek leather is purposefully designed to withstand rain and snow.
