WD-3103U-C, this device will not display temp in Celsius!!

Great idea for a product, but very poor execution! It came with no instructions; i finally found a web site listed on the back of the product and found setup instructions online. When I typed in the serial number as instructed it returned an error message. After about an hour, I gave up. This weather station now rests in the trash can.

I purchased one several months ago. I liked it so much I just purchased a second as a gift. It was a lot easier to configure than I expected.

Your computer must be open at all times.
    Use a permanent USB port.
Measuring the temperature outside requires the purchase of an optional sensor not included.
    Not worth its price.
Free iApp does the same job!

Have ours on the wall next to the keys by the front door. Does a great job of displaying indoor temperature, and internet display/forecast for local (or wherever you want) conditions. If you want to see your current outdoor temperature - you've got to purchase an external transmitter (not included). No software included, you have to install it /download it via the internet, but this is documented. A USB dongle plugs into your PC and transmits information to the device. Your PC needs to be on (most) of the time. Have also found the PC needs to be restarted every 2-3 days. All this being said - its quite simple, straightforward, small, unobtrusive, and does a very good job. You just need to know the limitations...
