“Works OK; Probe NOT Weatherproof”

“Unlike another model sold by STP with a cap over the probe, this has a probe that must be mounted under an eve. The probe has a small display, but it may not be visible depending on where you must mount it. (I cut the neck off a 20-oz soda bottle and inverted it over the probe.) With the extra probe installed, there is often a difference between the two channel readings even if the probes are next to each other. (LaCrosse says that a 2 degree difference is acceptable.) Although the tiny probe display cycles between temperatures of the two channels, the main display does not. To see the second channel temperature you must push a button. If you follow the instructions to power the probe (2 AAA you supply) before the main unit (2 AA you supply) everything works great.”
