La Crosse Technology Wireless Weather Station with Waterproof Probe

I was searching for a small appliance to display the temp outside and in the pool when I discovered STP had the perfect tool at a fantastic price. [...]. Installation was easy- I installed the batteries and it fired right up. The temp display seems to be pretty accurate; the remote and probe displayed the same temp when left side by side. I've only owned it a couple weeks, so no comment on durability or battery life. I'm very pleased so far.

this is a mediocre product. Temps on the water proof probe are way off and the main thermometer is inconsistently off between 2 and 4 F.

Great wireless thermometer for home and vacation property use. Great for using in the house, garage, shop, and then route the probe outside for an additional reading without needing an additional transmitter.

The indoor sensor registers about 5 degrees different from another sensor and display by the same company.

Read the instructions because you are instructedto place batteries in the sending unit first. Then the receiver. Took just a few minutes to set it up. Its working fine. great price, [...] and one pleased customer.

It worked for 2 days. The clock never worked. Temp sending unit kept failing despite restarts and changing batteries. Calling LaCrosse Technical service was a nightmare. No response and when I finally did talk to someone 5 days later they were rude and unhelpful. The description says the unit is water proof but when I talked to the Tech person they said, "you have invalidated your warranty because you did not put the unit out of the weather..." Stay away from this product -- it is really lousy.

Unlike another model sold by STP with a cap over the probe, this has a probe that must be mounted under an eve. The probe has a small display, but it may not be visible depending on where you must mount it. (I cut the neck off a 20-oz soda bottle and inverted it over the probe.) With the extra probe installed, there is often a difference between the two channel readings even if the probes are next to each other. (LaCrosse says that a 2 degree difference is acceptable.) Although the tiny probe display cycles between temperatures of the two channels, the main display does not. To see the second channel temperature you must push a button. If you follow the instructions to power the probe (2 AAA you supply) before the main unit (2 AA you supply) everything works great.

I've used this weather station in my gardening for nearly a year now and am pleased with it's durability and performance. I use the remote to monitor air temperature in a raised bed cold frame with the probe to monitor the soil temperature. I've found that the remote has difficulty functioning at higher (100+) temps, but otherwise is quite dependable.

We like to know the outside temperature when we wake in the morning. This is a replacement for one we have had for 3-4 years. It comes with a probe for a pond or pool but we have no need for this. This is working just fine.
