This is my second pair of these shoes. I only took these out of the box to insure fit, which was exactly as expected. They went back into the box, and into my closet, awaiting the day when the first pair wears out! I have had the first pair for about a year. I run about 20 miles a week generally... Read More

I was a little worried that it was too narrow, but in fact even though I am a full E, it actually fits my foot fine.

The tread is almost like a cleat, very grippy on steep sandstone rocks even with powdery sand and dirt on them. Its very very grippy

It must have some sort of a last, which really improves the comfort, but its also flexible so maybe its an imbedded series of overlapping small plates. or is it just a really high quality PU mid sole? regardless its stiff but supportive and flexy which is like the best of both worlds.

    I like this shoe.

I have been wearing these for just over a week. These are going to be used for a 10 day hike on Isle Royale. I would rate these as just as good or better in comparison to Merril brand shoes including how they fit. They have an agressive sole and are very well built. True to size. I would buy these again.

Ive had my first pair for almost a year and absolutely love them. I use them for hiking and they very comfortable and the grip is amazing. Took them on a trip around Oregon and hiked about 50 miles in everything from dirt, loose sand, and even snow. I was able to dig in pretty good climbing up snow banks while my friend went sliding down.
I also do alot of seascape photography and often have to walk on wet rocks (with thousands of dollars in camera gear with me) and I always feel secure.

Just picked up a backup pair since they don't make them anymore. I'm almost tempted to pick up a 3rd!

I am not a trail runner but I wear trail running shoes on approach hikes and while backpacking. The first thing you'll notice about these shoes is that the traction is incredible. I have not had a problem with mud build-up around the lugs, either.

The next best thing about these shoes is that the fabric covering the lace area makes for a very streamlined profile that deflects all kinds of abuse, making the shoes very durable and protective. Light amounts of water, such as encountered in light rain or while rock-hopping or hiking through wet grass, do not penetrate the shoe easily. Sticks and sharp rocks just bounce off instead of hooking and tearing the shoe. I have worn the lugs down on my first pair and the shoe upper still looks nearly new. I ordered a 2nd pair.

    • Answer I am not familiar with the Wild Cat shoe, but you mention you have "a wide toe bed." The La Sportiva is fairly narrow, and I say this, as a woman wearing this shoe and my feet are medium (towards narrow).

    • Answer I have no idea. The last is different, I know that. I believe the Wild Cat 2.0 and the Ultra Raptor are built around the same last, but I think the C-Lite 2.0 uses a completely different last.

As for width: I wear a Standard (D) width and found this to be in line with that. You might be able to size up a half-size and see if that gives you the lateral space your toes need.

    • Answer I love both the wildcats and these C-lite 2.0 I find them to be very similar in fit. Because of the soft-shell like "cover" they are a bit more to get on but not bad. Once on they are extremely comfortable and I love LaSportiva products. Only ice boots I would own as well.

    • Answer I am not familiar with the Wild Cat. However, I can say this... I bought the C-Lite 2.0 to replace the Crossleather (which I really liked). One of the differences is that the C-Lite 2.0 has a more spacious toe box, which does't work as well for me but might do the trick for you!?

    • Answer I have these shoes and I am a medium width. That being said, I think they feel a little too roomy at the toes for my taste. I like my runners to be a little snug or "clingy." I feel like they hold my heel nicely and have decent cushioning. Because of the toe room, I use them for daily wear/light hiking.

      Hope this helps!

    • Answer This is the first La Sportiva shoe I have worn. I tried getting a shoe with a wide toe box as I have a neuroma. The neuroma was not affected by this shoe.
Answered on 10/22/2014 11:10:10 PM by Pam from Anchorage, AK from Alaska
    • Answer I haven't used the Wild cat so cannot compare it with C-lite 2.0; one thing i can confirm though is the shoe has a narrow fit for toe bed.

My feet have regular toe bed and a standard US 8 fits me great.
I ordered half size larger as recommended but still it was too tight at the toe bed ; i had to remove the insole to make it a bit comfortable. ( Not in a position to return it back being so far)

Also putting them on and getting them off is a task of patience.

      Hope this helps.

      Cheers

    • Answer This would be a good choice. The injection-molded, dual-density EVA midsoles provide ample cushion on high mileage days and help maintain a light, stable platform.
