I am an nature photographer and do lots of scrambling up and down hills and over very rough terrain. These boots provide superb ankle support and stability. They were stiff at first but broke in quickly. As per Sierra Trading Post's recommendation I bought 1/2 size larger and they fit just right. Bottom line: excellent support and comfortable to boot :)

Traction is poor in slick grass. Tread is not aggressive enough for steep downhill treks.

I use these boots on the job. I spray weeds for the forest service and climb around rocks up and down slopes all week long. They are the best boot I have ever climbed in and I have been doing this for over 20 years. I have been struck by 3 rattle snakes and their fangs cannot go through the leather. As long as they don't go any higher than the boot I'll be good.

Haven't used the boots yet to climb Kilimanjaro. That's a few months away. Used it for practice hike on unstable terrain. I like the ankle support, although my ankle was badly squueezed by the fold in the uppersole. No harm done. The boots seem like the right choice for my trip. Boots are fine for climbing but my arch hurt when walking on flat road.

These were the most comfortable boots I have ever had on my feet. Even though I ordered larger like suggested, they were still slightly to short for my long toes.

My 3rd pair of La Sportivas, they fit my feet really well. Would have preferred a flat last so I could use my existing orthotics. Am having a custom pair made for these boots. Super happy to have NO gortex liner.

I broke these in on a hilly openspace area and continued to wear them all day NO RUBS BLISTERS, NOTHING, and cannot wait to backpack over the switchbacks with them in a couple months!!! Very stable boots and feel like you are sliding into an awesome pair of ski boots!!

These boots are for the serious mountaineer, if you are a casual hiker these are probably more than you need. Super light and durable. I use these for multiple day trips and occasionally for wildland firefighting (they are lighter than traditional boots). I would reccommend pairing them with super feet insoles for an even better feel.
