These were gorgeous boots. Excellent quality and great price. Loved the collar on top for extra water/weather protection. Step-in crampon compatible - a feature it's difficult to find a deal on. Unfortunately, they had to be returned because they were too small - about a full size. The sizes were limited so I wasn't able to exchange it. Big bummer.

I haven't taken them outside yet, so can't comment on durability, but they fit great on my narrowish heals.

    Pros:
    Good Quality, Stiff, Warm
    Cons:
    Tricky to adjust lacing
    Best Uses:
Snow and ice climbs, Winter mountaineering
    Describe Yourself:
    Avid Climber
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
This boot is a very nice boot. I tried to do a strenuous hike on hardpack, just to see what it would be like on a long approach to a snow or ice climb. It was a little stiff as you would expect, and a little tricky to get the lacing adjusted so that it was comfortable, but all in all, pretty good for a good stiff ice climbing/mountaineering boot. I have only used them on one backcountry trip so far, but they kept my feet plenty warm under all day despite being covered in snow much of the day in temperatures in the teens. I am pleased with these boots and would recommend them for ice climbing and winter mountaineering.
