Rugged Yet Comfortable

These boots run a little small, but once I got the right size [...]I couldn't have been happier. I hike in very rugged terrain (Gila Wilderness in southern New Mexico) and carry heavy loads through rocky, cactus covered steep slopes off trail, but these Trango Treks by La Sportiva are the best I've used in the last 20 years. I don't usually want Gore-Tex because the stream crossings are deep and the water comes over the tops of boots and then can't seep out. But these are a little taller than most. Hopefully they will last a long time.
