I loved the fabric but the fit was very square and unflattering on me.

If it's one thing I will spend bucks on it's a coat. Up until recently, this strategy (also for shoes and bags) has guaranteed superior workmanship and materials. E.g. a jacket I bought a few years ago at [...] has satin lining, careful tailoring, a heavenly, plush wool and cost me about four hundred dollars. This coat, on the other hand, while cute and made with an interesting graded wool, cost me about the same yet is worth about one quarter of what I paid. [...] wanted to sell it at $1200 - a spectacular rip-off for an 'easy' pattern with thin lining and unremarkable workmanship.[...]. But it's been a real drag buying good quality clothes these days - to quote a friend, "it's all a joke". This coat is on its way back to STP for a refund.
