This was a purchase made for a less expensive travel rod.(I got the 9ft. version) I own some more expensive St. Croix surf rods that are one piece or otherwise not travel friendly. Very happy with overall quality and performance of the product. It doesn't have the fit and finish of more expensive alternatives, but it is a good value for the price paid.(I waited until this had a decent % mark down and free shipping attached to get it) The eye spacing is good for casting, the blank has good back bone, and it balances well with a 5k-6k size reel. I pulled in a couple fish north of 20lbs on this rod with no problems. The casting sweet spot for mine(5/8-2oz rated) was just under 1.5oz lures. The only things I can knock it for is the lack of a hook keeper. Easily remedied. And it twists a little at the union under heavy casting. All 2 piece rods will do that, however. I just wrap it with a little tape.

One last thing. It annoys me to no end when people give 1 stars on products and then mention things like "It's made in china" and it came broke. How the hec does that factor in!? It clearly states where the product is made.

This rod casts extremely well if one stays at or near the 2 oz limit. Loads great and easy to cast far and accurately. Reasonably well made and a great value at the deal flyer price. I may purchase a second one. I am using it w a 4000 series Penn reel which makes a great light weight rig.

Another nice quality rod by Lamiglas. All good. Nice sensitivity. works well with Abu Garcia Revo Inshore baitcaster reel. Only improvement , would be a tad larger on the the eyes for transition of Braid to fluorocarbon. Nice colors and finish.
