Lamson Litespeed 3 Hard Alox Fly Fishing Reel - 6/7/8wt

Good reel for the pros mentioned about, but I'm surprised the tolerances on the reel isn't better. There's a gap between the spool and frame that can catch thin fly lines, backing or running lines. The spool also wobbles slightly from the frame making this gap bigger. This needs to be addressed by the company and I wouldn't use this reel for fish that will peel off lots of line and backing in a flash if you've got lots of line at your feet or in a bucket as it's likely to tangle

Lamson reels have the smoothest drag of any reel I've used. I love 'em. I've taken advantage of the closeout on Litespeeds to buy a 1.5, two 2.0 reels and a 3.0 reel. I use the 1.5 on my 3wt, the 2.0 reels on my 4wt and 5wt and the 3.0 on my 6wt. They are my primary reels. I'd buy more if STP didn't exclude them from further discount. I've seen no issues with fit or function and would recommend them to anyone!
