Lamson Radius 2 Fly Reel - 5/6wt

....on a recent trip to the Yakima River...the reel worked well in all respects..although changing the spool is cumbersome...a very good value..I bot a 2nd one because it was cheaper to buy the complete reel...than just buying a spool for different reel...

Very nice flyreel. Last for ever. Good quality. Very tough material, (you can't correct bendings, if it have) so tough it is. Material looks like the old (and the best Ross R serie flyreels, which was the best reel in the world).

I already had one for my spey rod. This one is for my streamer set up. Its smooth drag is great for working lunky the mega trout.

Have went fly fishing twice and very nice reel--nothing I don't like about it so far.

I would definitely recommend this reel. Very well made and pleasant to use.

I purchased this reel and another to compare. I own and like a Lamson Radius 3.5. This is a well built reel with good tolerances. However, I found it was not quick at picking up line since it is not a large arbor. It is kind of wide and would store a fair amount of backing, but I was looking for a reel with a LA. I did send it back. If looking for a mid-size with decent storage and have a specific fishing scenario in mind this would be a good reel.

Doesn't it feel great when you purchase a product a product at a bargain price and it does what it is supposed to do very well? The Lamson Radius 3 I bought from STP is one such gem. It is well-built, quality reel that can handle a lot of less-than-pristine fishing conditions. I like good equipment but if I banged up or dumped a $500+ reel, that would absolutely ruin my day. I do a lot of light tackle fly fishing in the surf and bay and don't want to fret about salt/sand ruining my equipment. Lamson makes great products and the Radius 3 gives me the performance (reliability/sealed drag) I want without putting a lot of investment (both time and $$) in worrying/caring for expensive gear. When you buy a Radius, I recommend going up one size. I use my Radius 3 on a 6 wt and it balances/holds line just fine.
