    Bought the reel for salt water fly fishing. Matched it to an Echo 2 8wt rod, nicely balanced. The large arbor design and sealed drag should serve me well. Same reel as current model except for finish (who cares?) but [$]

    I have the V3 that is not a hybrid and love it. When I got the hybrid the drag knob was tight and I called Lamson. They said that they had trouble with some of the "specs" on the hybrids and that the drag would not be affected and that the knob would loosen as it was used. The knob really is not that bad, but I was use to a knob on my original V3 that was very easy to turn so I wanted to call and ensure that there were no major problems. I would buy this reel again.
