“Decent reel at a GREAT price”

“I bought this reel because I needed a 9 wt sinking line. I have not used the reel yet, but will in April on the S. FL coast. I have two other saltwater fly reels, a Bauer and a Nautilus. The key to a good drag is smoothness and durability as opposed to "stopping power," how it dissipates heat and stands up to repeated runs. The reel action seem a bit loose ( a little play before the drag engages). The drag mechanism seems small and fragile compared to my other reels. I wonder if the Lamson drag will stand up to the Jacks and Bonitos I enocunter frequently in FL... But at this price? After the discount, its worth a try. Its cheaper than an extra spool AND its under warranty. All good!”
