    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I was very disappointed. The bag arrived crushed, with deep creases in the leather in bad places and the woven strips were twisted and curled up, showing that the leather was thin. The purple color was flat. I was expecting a deeper tone, thicker and more substantial leather, and higher quality construction. I also expected the bag to arrive looking new and it looked used (probably it was not stuffed with enough paper and it was stored improperly). Back it went.

    Love the slightly crinkled glazed leather finish and the strap is wide enough to stay firmly on the shoulder w/o slipping; east/west shape very up-to-date. Only caveat is that the base support is somewhat weak and causes the bag to sag a bit in the middle if one carries more than a wallet/checkbook and glasses.
